Though the show has been in reruns the past few weeks, Winfrey Tweeted on Thursday that she was "hard at work planning the final shows." She also said new episodes would begin airing April 7.
Winfrey shared her decision to end her show after 25 years with viewers last November. It was prayer and careful thought that helped her decide, she said. "I love this show. This show has been my life. And I know when it's time to say goodbye."
"Twenty-five years feels right in my bones and feels right in my spirit."
After her final show, Winfrey will turn her focus and attention to her new cable network, OWN (The Oprah Winfrey Network.)
OWN launched Jan. 1, and the network's programming slate serves up a potluck stew of stars -- everyone from Black Eyed Peas maestro will.i.am (who contributes the single 'Own It' as a network anthem), Wynonna Judd and her mama Naomi (starring in the original OWN series 'The Judds'), Fergie, the fallen Duchess of York ('Finding Sarah'), Carson Kressley, Nancy O'Dell, Suze Orman, Dr. Oz, Dr. Phil McGraw and more. Plus: lots of hugs, makeovers and learning.
