Well, there was no big shocker tonight on American Idol. Unless you consider the elimination of a male contestant a shocker.

In a week that generated more than 53 million votes, Paul McDonald, Stefano Langone and Haley Reinhart got the fewest. And, for the first time in six weeks of Idol finals, a guy was sent packing. Paul, the gravelly voiced Huntsville, Ala., native who now lives in Nashville, will be headed back to Music City shortly.

"It's OK , man, it's OK. ... It's been fun, a good time," Paul told Ryan Seacrest, before Jennifer Lopez offered a request for one more performance of Rod Stewart's Maggie May.
