Cheryl Cole is feeling lonely

Things have gone from bad to worse for Cheryl Cole.

On the surface she's got it all - good looks and a successful career - but behind closed doors Cheryl's struggling with feelings of loneliness and abandonment as her world turns upside down.

Looking sad and puffy-faced at her LA hotel last week, Now's learnt the 27-year-old's been in constant floods of tears and making heartbreaking calls to her mum Joan.

Desperately trying to cope, Cheryl - who's attempting to quit smoking - has turned to comfort food, bingeing on chips, delivery pizza and KFC.�

'Cheryl's in a bad place emotionally at the moment,' reveals a friend.

'She feels like the world' against her and nothing's going right.'

A source close to her official camp insists she's not having a meltdown or feeling ill and is busy working.
