Andy Dick was released from Riverside County Sheriff's Department after posting $500 bail.LOS ANGELES - Jail-prone jokester Andy Dick was arrested for public intoxication at a Marie Callender's restaurant Monday in his latest boorish brush with the law.
The sobriety-challenged star of the 1990s NBC sitcom "News Radio" was argumentative with the staff and refused to leave after drinking too much, Lt. Robert Moquin of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department told the Daily News.
"We determined he was under the influence of alcohol and was unable to care for his own safety," Moquin said. "He was arrested for detoxification only and there will be no further proceeding."
An employee at the chain restaurant in Temecula, Calif., defended the comedian.
"A third party called police over something silly. It was blown out of proportion. He ate here with friends," a female staffer who answered the phone said.
Dick, 45, was charged last year with two felony counts of sexual abuse after allegedly grabbing a bouncer's crotch and groping and kissing a patron at a bar in Huntington, W. Va. The case is still pending.
He pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery and marijuana possession after he allegedly fondled a 17-year-old girl in the parking lot of Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar in Murietta, Calif., in 2008.
Dick was forcibly removed from the set of "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in 2007 after repeatedly touching guest Ivanka Trump.
He later returned to the show sporting restraints similar to those worn by Anthony Hopkins in "Silence of the Lambs."
