Ryan Dunn (Jackass) and Jessica Chobot (Attack of the Show) set their sights on finding out in G4's Proving Ground, a new 9-episode series due on the G4 cable network June 14 (Tuesdays at 8 ET/PT).
The show, aimed squarely at the network's audience of young male gamers, explores whether "iconic moments" from film, TV and videogames really work, identifying strategies, planning assembly and then building a contraption that's tested. Other quests include Star Trek teleportation, spinning a Spider-Man web and wielding the "force" from Star Wars. Some work?such as the living Mario Kart in the series premiere?while others fall flat.
