Gilbert Gottfried Faults Media for Tsunami Backlash

Gilbert Gottfried found himself in the news recently, but for all the wrong reasons, starting with too-soon jokes about the Japan tsunami that led Aflac to replace him as their mouthy duck. Despite losing a lucrative and stable gig, Gilbert tells me on my HDNet show that he's not letting this mishap get to him.

"I was the headline on every news station, like 'Gilbert said something off color,'" he says on 'Naughty But Nice.' "I'm sure when Christ was on the cross, people were doing jokes about it. But he wasn't Christ at the time, just some schmuck. Then he came back and they were like 'he did do it.'"

His jokes following the tragedy in Japan included "I just split up with my girlfriend, but like the Japanese say, 'They'll be another one floating by any minute now,'" and "Japan is really advanced. They don't go to the beach. The beach comes to them."

He later apologized.

The funnyman dubbed himself the "big arch-enemy number one in the world" after the scandal broke, but nowadays he can't say much about Aflac or risk getting in deeper legal trouble.

"Here's the worst part. I'm still at this part where I can't say anything about the company," he admits. "I realize that's like being from GM and going, 'I'll do the interview but nothing about cars! ... My beak is sealed for the time being."

He says the media went out of their way to make him into a villain. "I was on the news constantly, and they referred to it as 'comments and remarks' that I made. Because if you say 'jokes' then it's like, 'f**k jokes.'"

Gilbert, who has just released his memoir 'Rubber Balls and Liquor,' hasn't given up Twittering and was happy to see that both Howard Stern and Joan Rivers defended him after his was fired from Aflac. But that doesn't mean there hasn't been more blow-back for the jokes.

"Had about three comedy clubs cancel out," Gilbert told me after the Aflac incident. "Why would we want him? He makes jokes."

Friday night JLo greeted a huge crowd of fans at The Grove in Los Angeles for an Extra hosted launch party. Her album release is May 3, and the newest single, Hypnotico, was leaked earlier this week. The leaked single was written by Lady Gaga.�Love? is JLo?s seventh studio album, but it is the first album she has released since 2007.

The singer looked ultra glam in a strapless gold,�sequined�jumpsuit, accented with a black ribbon tied at the waist. She entered the crowd atop a double decker tram, surrounded by dancers and close friends.

After the new album, there is no sign of slowing down for this one. Jennifer and husband, Marc Anthony, will begin work this summer on a new Latin Music show, titled Q?Viva!. The Daily Mail reports that the show will ?showcase Latin music, artistry and dance.? Lopez talked to the New York Post about the show,

American Idol Exit Interview: Casey Abrams Says Goodbye

Humble until the end, Casey Abrams recently spoke on his elimination from American Idol.

The bearded crooner told MTV he had a feeling his name would be called on Thursday night. Not because he did poorly, but because he was so impressed by his competitors.

My performance was pretty good," he said. "But seeing Jacob kill it and then seeing Haley kill it, seeing Scotty and Lauren kill it and Durbin obviously... it just made me feel like, 'These guys are incredible. These guys could carry the show. I don't really need to be here, so if I go home tomorrow, I'm prepared.'"

On a personal note, Casey's goodbye to contestant Haley Reinhart - which included a kiss - forced him to clear up all rumors about the two dating. He just refers to her as his "special music friend."

"I was completely on random mode. I didn't plan on ending up on Haley; it just happened that way. Nothing was planned," he said of his hug and kiss-filled farewell on stage.

Does the talented singer (he plays cello, bass, drums and clarinet) have any parting words of advice?

"Don't take yourself too seriously. Take music seriously, but not yourself."

LAPD warning exposed as Internet hoax; alert retracted

It seemed like an official enough, foreboding warning, one in which police warned West Valley residents of a possible terrorist threat.

In the end, though, some officers at LAPD's West Valley Division were just the latest to fall for an 8-year-old Internet hoax that is apparently still alive and well.

An email sent to subscribers of the station's notification service and posted to its Nixle website Friday warned of a possible terrorist threat after $32,000 worth of United Parcel Service uniforms were supposedly bought on eBay in the last month.

The message includes a U.S. Department of Homeland Security signature and warns residents to be aware of bogus deliverymen wearing the uniforms who could drop off packages to anyone "with deadly consequences."

Make sure the UPS worker is driving a company vehicle, and ask for valid ID, the warning states.

But the email is an urban myth that has been circulating on the Internet since early 2003, likely born of Sept. 11 fears. And it's one that's been widely debunked by the FBI, UPS, eBay and even Homeland Security itself.

"This urban legend, and a variation with a Department of Homeland Security signature block, are all equally untrue," reads a statement on Homeland Security's webpage dedicated to identifying hoaxes and urban legends involving the agency.

It was unclear how many people the notice

was sent to, but West Valley station officials later retracted the warning, acknowledging that it was an Internet myth. They issued an apology more than an hour later after several people called the station questioning the authenticity of the information.

But they also took the opportunity to point out that the warning wasn't all bad.

"However, the advice is good in that you should always verify the delivery service has arrived with their own company vehicle," reads the notice. "Our deepest APOLOGIZES (sic) from the LAPD WVY Area !!!"

The warning was sent to West Valley residents after another duped state law enforcement agency - unidentified in the notice - passed along the information, according to the message.

Officials at the station did not return calls for comment.

Twins! Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon Welcome a Daughter and Son

Mariah Carey delivered two babies, a son and daughter, in Los Angeles on Saturday -- the same day as her wedding anniversary to Nick Cannon.

The pop star, 42, gave birth at 12:07 p.m., according to People.com.

Carey's rep confirmed that the couple's baby girl was first to arrive, weighing 5 lbs., 3 oz. (18 inches long), followed by their baby boy, weighing 5 lbs., 6 oz. (19 inches long).

The spokeswoman also said Carey's single 'We Belong Together' was the music playing after the twins arrived.

Cannon, 30, tweeted his joy:

The names of the newborn sister and brother have not yet been made public.

When he guest-hosted 'The Talk' earlier this week, Cannon told viewers how he felt knowing he'd be meeting his babies soon: "I'm not trying to be a psychic, but we renew our vows every year so...It's probably going to be in the hospital this year," he hinted. "I can feel it."

As an expectant mom, Carey has been dealing with double the anticipation, and has been frequently sharing her excitement with fans -- showing off a posh his & hers nursery, and posting twitpics of her baby bump painted like a butterfly and an Easter egg. The new parents also got in front of the camera together for a magazine shoot, ending up with memorable nude photos taken during Carey's voluptuous pregnancy.

Lindsay Lohan to Plead No Contest to Theft Charge

Despite insisting she is innocent, Lindsay Lohan will reportedly plead no contest to the misdemeanor theft charges she faces over a necklace.

According to TMZ, the 24-year-old is ready to accept responsibility and movie on with her life, as her lawyer, Shawn Holley, will go back to Judge Stephanie Sautner as early as next week to enter the plea in the case.

Lindsay has already been handed to a 120 day jail sentence for a probation violation, along with 480 hours of community service.

Sources have revealed that Lohan and her legal team believe that the judge will not add additional prison time on the theft charge, which would mean that LiLo would serve only her original 120 days and that would end it.

Kate Middleton's walk down the red carpet of Westminster Abbey was a sight to behold, but we think this guy might have one-upped her.

After most of the crowd cleared out and the festivities were long over, a priest clad in a black robe decided to take advantage of the long and empty aisle...by performing a series of cartwheels. We're unsure if it was from sheer giddiness of the nuptials or just a joker trying to take advantage of the empty church, but he certainly had his fun. The newlyweds - now titled the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge �?? appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace in London yesterday afternoon (29.04.11) and shared two kisses, to the cheers of crowds below and delight of a worldwide TV audience estimated at two billion.

As he turned to his new wife for their first kiss, William, 28, said: "Kate, shall we? Shall we kiss. Come on, OK? The kiss."

According to The Sun newspaper, after they briefly touched lips William stood back, smiled and asked her: "That OK?"

Kate, shall we? Shall we kiss. Come on, OK? The kiss.

Two minutes after their first smooch, William responded to chants from the crowd assembled below of "kiss, kiss, kiss, kiss," by asking his bride: "Do you want this? Takes a bit of getting used to.

"Another kiss! One more? Let's give them another one. I love you. One more kiss - go on, come here."

The couple lingered longer for their second kiss, which lasted 1.25 seconds, before Kate, 29, pulled away with a huge smile on her face for the assembled crowd which lined The Mall below.

William is then said to have called time on their public displays of affection, saying: "That's it. No more, no more, I'm embarrassed."

The young royal couple had earlier been married at nearby Westminster Abbey and were joined on the balcony by their bridal party and respective families - including Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, Prince Charles and Kate's parents Carole and Michael Middleton to watch a fly by of Royal Air Force (RAF) jets.

Buckingham Palace have confirmed that Prince William and Kate Middleton will take the titles the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge after they marry today (29.04.11).

The couple will tie the knot at Westminster Abbey at 11am and this morning William's grandmother Queen Elizabeth conferred the Dukedom on the 28-year-old prince.

A statement from Buckingham Palace announced: "The Queen has today been pleased to confer a Dukedom on Prince William of Wales. His titles will be Duke of Cambridge, Earl of Strathearn and Baron Carrickfergus."

He will wear a forage cap, gold and crimson sash and gold sword slings but no sword. The uniform was fitted by Kashket and Partners.

William's 26-year-old brother and best man Prince Harry will wear the uniform of a Captain of the Household Cavalry (Blues and Royals).

William spent his last evening as a single man with his father Prince Charles, stepmother Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and brother before taking time out to speak with well-wishers who had lined the Mall in preparation for his big day.

Defense for Jackson doctor seeks trial delay

LOS ANGELES � Defense attorneys for the doctor charged in Michael Jackson's death have asked a judge to delay the trial so they can prepare for newly named prosecution witnesses.

Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor did not immediately rule on the oral motion made Friday but instructed attorneys for Dr. Conrad Murray to file a formal motion by Sunday afternoon.

Pastor set a hearing for Monday to decide whether to delay the case just two days before jury selection was scheduled to resume and a week before opening statements were expected.

Murray's defense attorney Ed Chernoff told Pastor the Houston-based cardiologist had agreed to a delay.

Murray has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter.

Priest Does Cartwheels in Westminster Abbey

The royal wedding had one man doing cartwheels ? literally.

A priest, dressed in a black gown and clerical collar, preformed two cartwheels down the aisle at Westminster Abbey following the nuptials of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

After most of the guests had cleared out, the church official was walking down the red carpet when he broke out in a fit of acrobatics, presumably moved by the festive occasion.

What the man didn't realize was that Sky News still had their cameras rolling and caught the whole thing on tape.

David Letterman was joking around with Dr. Phil last night, only he wasn't really joking when it came to Donald Trump's criticism of President Obama.

He began by asking Phil about Trump, and Phil didn't really bite. What Dave was really doing was giving himself his own segue to lay into the Donald.

Dave said, flat-out, that beyond the birth certificate, Trump's questioning of Obama - how he got into Harvard, how he wrote his memoirs - is racist.

Dave scoffed and said if Trump returns to The Late Show - “and I’m not sure that we want him back” - he “ought to be prepared to apologize.”

Trump denied he's racist yesterday, following a similar calling out by CBS News' Bob Schieffer over the mogul's remarks about Obama's grades.

A possible White House candidate in 2012, Trump said he was making a broader point about the President's lack of transparency about his past.

Whether or not you think Donald is out of line, it's nice to see a host not cozying up to celebs by default and actually offering a strong opinion.

Chace Crawford has made a deal in his marijuana possession case, and if he follows all the terms for the next year, it will be like he was never charged at all.

Crawford was arrested in Plano, Texas last June after police found a joint in his car.

If you've seen the previews for "Hangover 2" -- you already know Ed Helms wakes up with a Mike Tyson face tattoo ... but now, the guy who did Tyson's ink is PISSED at producers, claiming they ripped off his work without permission.

The guy who applied Tyson's face tattoo back in 2003 is S. Victor Whitmill -- who claims he not only created the design, but copyrighted it as well.�

In fact, Whitmill says he's never allowed ANYONE to use the image since he put it on Tyson.

Now, Whitmill has filed a lawsuit in federal court in St. Louis, claiming Warner Bros. -- the studio behind the movie -- violated his copyright ... and he wants to block the studio from showing the tattoo in the film.

Whitmill is also demanding an unspecified amount of cash.�

Warner Bros. declined comment.

Socialite Brandon Davis Arrested For Drug Possession

Brandon Davis is facing drug charges after being arrested in Hollywood on Wednesday night.

Brandon Davis was arrested by police outside the Roosevelt Hotel, where he allegedly punched comedian Ben Gleib.

Davis was reportedly denied entry to the vaudeville show Beacher?s Madhouse.

A police officer searched Brandon and found drugs on him.� Davis was booked for battery and possession of a controlled substance.

The socialite?s bail was set at $10,000.

Earlier on Wednesday night, Brandon Davis joined his friends Paris and Nicky Hilton for dinner at Boa Steakhouse.

Brandon?s brother Jason also has drug problems.� Jason completed a stint on the reality show ?Celebrity Rehab? but was arrested for drugs days after the program.

American Idol: Casey Abrams Is Eliminated

"A lot of fans are going to be disappointed with tonight's result," said Ryan Seacrest at the start of the hour on American Idol Thursday. That sounded ominous, but then again it wasn't the same as saying America would be shocked or faint dead away. Not a Pia Toscano moment, in other words.

At the halfway point, Seacrest said: "Who is in and who is out? You may be surprised." Again, surprise ? but not shock. ? I sensed ? Jacob Lusk.

Wrong. It WAS a surprise: Casey Abrams, who'd gone farther than any other Idol contestant whose chief enthusiasms were jazz and blues and other musical idioms that don't mean much in the Age of Justin Bieber.

"This is what talent looks like," said Seacrest, as the judges gave Casey an ovation. He then sang "I Cast a Spell on You," not breaking off even as he hugged the judges and kissed girls and women in the front row. In fact, it was probably the best performance he'd ever given ? a triumphant exit, and something of a relief after his near-collapse earlier in the season when the judges saved him from elimination.

The only sign of anxiety came early in the hour, when the camera caught him biting his nails.

In the end, despite Jennifer Lopez's excitement at the prospect of a jazz-singer Idol, he probably fell too far outside the range of talent that voters are willing to see crowned with the title.

On Wednesday's Carole King program, Casey sang "Hi De Ho," a song the average viewer might not even recognize as being from her catalog, and performed it with a showy bluesiness that made it sound positively old. Commenting in retrospect, producer Jimmy Iovine said he was disappointed by Casey's performance, especially by all the growling. "The family dog does not vote on this show."

During a segment that posed questions sent in on online, Casey was asked to name his dream duet partner. His answer: jazz great Oscar Peterson. If he hadn't gone this week, that little fact alone might have doomed him next time.

Iovine, by the way, continues to be much more incisive and interesting than the judges. I mean, they're adorable but? In particular, he suggested that they need to stop urging the singers to chart their personal artistic progress from week to week and start comparing the vocal talents ? start making sense of the whole competition.

After all, he said, what's the point of urging a pure country talent like Scotty McCreery to spread his wings? Would they have urged Johnny Cash to do the same? "He comes with character, strength and confidence," said Iovine.

Thanks to the viewer Q&A, we also know now that Scotty once worked in a tanning salon. I believe Johnny Cash did too.

At the start of the night, the gang went to the British consulate to toast the royal wedding. One of the guests there was American actor Fred Willard, who said he wished a starlet were around so he could push her into the pool.

Crystal Bowersox, slimmer since placing second in season 9, sang "Ridin' with the Radio" backed up by men with facial hair.

To sum up, the top five singers left on Idol are: Jacob Lusk, Lauren Alaina, Scotty McCreery, Haley Reinhart and James Durbin.

'Two And a Half Men' creator Chuck Lorre is planning to relaunch the sitcom without Charlie Sheen.

Despite rumours that the troubled actor has been in talks to return to the show - which was cancelled in February when he was fired after being hospitalised following a 36-hour drink and drugs session with a bevy of porn stars - the writer is said to planning a new direction for the show, without its original star.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, instead of focusing on Sheen's character Charlie, the new version of the Warner Bros. hit would be about his brother Alan, played by Jon Cryer, and a new yet-to-be cast character.

Had they told me at the end of season eight that that behaviour wasn't going to be cool, I would have adjusted it.

Sources told the website that many well-known actors are being considered for the new role, although the studio hasn't yet confirmed whether the show is returning for a ninth series.

Although 45-year-old Charlie is currently suing Chuck and Warner Bros. for $100 million, he recently expressed his desire to return to the sitcom and hinted that he would have amended his past behaviour if he had known it would lead to him losing his job.

He said: "There's been discussions, but I was asked not to divulge anything.

"Had they told me at the end of season eight that that behaviour wasn't going to be cool, I would have adjusted it."

Donald Trump Bristles at Racism Allegations, Tries to Downplay Obama Comments

Bob Schieffer of CBS' Face the Nation and that network's Evening News made headlines last night when he flat-out called Donald Trump a racist.

At issue? Trump's questioning of President Obama's birth certificate and later his academic record, criticisms Schieffer says have racist undertones.

The Donald was far from pleased with Bob's assessment.

Moments ago, he told TMZ: "That is a terrible statement for a newscaster to make. I am the last person that such a thing should be said about."

Bob's scathing statement against Trump came last night in response to Trump's insinuation that Obama may not have had the grades to get into Harvard.

Schieffer said, "That's code for saying he got into law school because he's black. This is an ugly strain of racism that's running through this whole thing."

Asked if he was implying Obama got into Harvard via affirmative action, Trump said: "Affirmative action is out there. It's a program that is available."

"I have no idea whether it applies in this case. I'm not suggesting anything. "Grades are the least important aspect of being president. It's not a big subject."

Trump insists he's not racist and wouldn't say if he supports or opposes affirmative action. But he's clearly trying to douse some of the flames he ignited.

Khloe Kardashian (r.) knows she's bigger than her sisters but has come to terms with her body.

If Kim Kardashian is the sexy one and Kourtney Kardashian is the pretty one, what does that make Khloe Kardashian?

The one "tortured for her weight," as it says on the new cover of Us Weekly.

Khloe, 26, opened up to the magazine about her lifelong body battle, which was one of the focal points on Sunday's episode of "Khloe and Lamar."

"They are 5-foot and 5-foot-2, so I look massive next to them," the 5-foot-10 Khloe said of her famous sisters.

While hardly a giant, the reality star said, "Everyone expects me to be 9 feet tall and weigh 200 pounds," when seeing her in person.

Khloe's struggles with food ramped up when her mom, Kris, and late father, Robert Kardashian, divorced in 1990.

"They gave us food to keep us comforted," she told the magazine. "All we did was eat crap."

And as she gained weight, her sisters' didn't ? a sad sight that wasn't lost on Khloe or those around her.

"I had older women tell me, 'You should really work out,'" she recalled. "It really got to me."

Khloe, who is now married to Lakers star Lamar Odom, said she radically changed her diet when she hit her teenage years and began working out as often as three times a day.

The results were obvious: she dropped from a size 12 to a 0.

"I started to get a positive response from people when I was losing weight," she said.

But Khloe's size has fluctuated over the years - last June she denied being pregnant, announcing to the world "I'm just fat" - to the point where she's just now becoming comfortable with her curvy shape.

"Now I can say that I'm proud of my body," Khloe wrote Wednesday on her blog, where she urged fans to read the Us interview.

"My body weight will always be something that I will have to work on for the rest of my life," she said, "but I am finally in a really good place and learning to love me for me and not for someone else's standards."

"If I can help other people find the self-confidence that I've found, then I'm definitely a happy girl," she added.

The talk show host discovered through a genealogical society that she is a distant cousin of the future princess and still has her fingers crossed for a last-minute invitation to her wedding to Prince William tomorrow (29.04.11).

In an interview with Terri Seymour for 'Extra', she said: "We're 15th cousins, yeah, it's not like we're 20th or something ... we're 15th.

"It's not too late, Terri. I'm not counting anything out. That's not how I got to where I am, by being a glass-half-empty kind of person. I mean, there could be a phone call.

Reese Witherspoon - who recently wed Hollywood agent Jim Toth - admitted she would have given anything to get an invite.

She said: "I can't even contain my enthusiasm for the royal wedding! I'm kind of bummed I'm not invited to the royal wedding. My girlfriend asked me if I was invited. Well, no, but I invited them to my wedding!"

Celebrities fortunate enough to be invited include David Beckham and his wife Victoria, Sir Elton John and his husband David Furnish, Guy Ritchie and Joss Stone.

While everyone else is watching American Idol, God is apparently watching over Matt?who stands a good chance to honor his Savior with a million bucks unless Rob can find a way to oust him from Redemption Island.

Survivor Shuffleboard: Tonight's Redemption Island challenge?which ended predictably in Julie's defeat, despite some teasing by God early on?is a metaphor for this entire season. It's plodding, slow, lacks real action and excitement?and the players aren't going anywhere. They're just shuffling back and forth between camp, Redemption Island, and now the jury. Sure, a few discs were hit outta the court, but I haven't given up on the possibility of Russell Hantz rising up Hunger Games-style from the bowels of the Redemption Island Arena to get this party started.

Peace Out: After Rob stabbed him in the back (twice), Matt took another hit from God. But this time, said Matt, "He hit me with a lot of peace. I think I'm ready to go home. I feel like I came here to accomplish what I set out to do." Not so fast, Jeff Probst chortles after Matt's eighth consecutive victory: "God is not done...You are staying alive on Redemption Island whether you want to be here or not." Two questions: (1) Why didn't he issue proclamations like these to Na'Onka and Purple Kelly last season? (2) Will Pastor Probst tack on another day to this season so Matt can kick it the full 40 days, Jesus-style?

Crowded House: Matt's congregation is growing exponentially, and even though Julie left to find her own church, tonight's double-elimination meant both Ralph and Steve would be sleeping in the pews with Matt and Mike. For the sake of peace in those close quarters, let's hope Steve doesn't try to pick another "crazy" fight.

Fruit Loops: "You cannot mess with the Specialist!" crows Phillip. Why? "It's fruitile," using a surprisingly apropos nonsense word. "It's frivolous," he adds inanely. If only Survivor would introduce another Hidden Immunity Idol so the full-blooded Cherokee ancient could reveal its location to Phillip in a vision and shake things up around camp. What's that you say, Grandpa Jessum? Oh, you're right: He would just hand it over to Awesome Rob.

Let Them Eat Cake: Challenge winner Grant insists he was employing a "strategy" in selecting Matt's self-proclaimed spirit-breaker Andrea to join him and Rob in the chocolate feast. But how many strategic moves does Grant have left? He has to see that he is now Rob's greatest threat at camp. This point in the game?when the original alliance has to start turning on itself?is usually exciting, but not this time. The only thing this group is fighting for is Rob's approval and affection; do they even know a million-dollar prize is stake?

Spurs Beat Grizzlies 110-103 In Overtime, Cut Series Lead To 3-2

SAN ANTONIO ? Just 1.7 seconds is all that remained for Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker in what has been a wasted and humiliating dud of a playoff run.

An undrafted rookie didn't let them go down that quickly.

Catching the inbounds pass with 1.7 seconds left, Gary Neal forced overtime with a spectacular 3-pointer in the face of O.J. Mayo as time expired, and the top-seeded San Antonio Spurs staved off elimination by stunning the Memphis Grizzlies 110-103 on Wednesday night.

"It felt good. I knew I had good legs going into it," Neal said. "It felt good. I followed through and it went in."

The eighth-seeded Grizzlies still lead the best-of-seven series 3-2. They will host the Spurs on Friday night, but left town knowing they missed a knockout punch.

"They're down by three, you've got to run them off the 3. You can't let nobody shoot an open 3," Grizzlies forward Zach Randolph said. "You've got to contest the 3, you've got to deny the ball."

The straightaway 3-pointer was the second of two remarkable San Antonio baskets in the final 2.2 seconds of regulation. Manu Ginobili, who scored 33 points, hit the other with a long corner jumper while falling out of bounds in front of the Spurs bench, in what was originally ruled a 3.

A video replay confirmed Ginobili's left toe was on the line. That left the Spurs still trailing 95-94, and after two free throws by Randolph, San Antonio needed another miracle.

Ginobili? Parker? Duncan, in perhaps a repeat of his memorable tying 3-pointer with 3 seconds left against Phoenix in the 2008 playoffs, before the Spurs went on to a double-overtime win?

Nope.

They drew it up for Neal, a 26-year-old rookie and former European journeyman who the Spurs signed this season after giving him an audition on their summer league team.

"You really don't think about the magnitude of making or missing it, you just think about trying to get the best shot that you can get," said Neal, who finished with seven points. "It went in today, but I think it's the best shot I could have got in that situation."

Randolph led Memphis with 26 points and 11 rebounds. He scored 18 points in the fourth quarter and overtime, but the Spurs assured a Game 6 in the overtime behind Parker, who scored 6 of his 24 in the extra period.

Only eight teams in NBA history have ever come back from a 3-1 deficit. The Spurs, who were the NBA's winningest team for most of the season, are desperate to join that list in what may be their last good shot to win a fifth championship in the Duncan era.

Memphis remains on the verge of becoming just the fourth No. 8 seed in NBA history to win a playoff series. Not since Golden State upset Dallas in 2006 has a No. 8 seed toppled a No. 1 in the first round.

Marc Gasol had 11 points and 17 rebounds for Memphis, while Mike Conley scored 20 points and Sam Young added 18.

Duncan began the game in vintage playoff form, looking keenly aware of the stakes. He scored 11 points in the first 9 1/2 minutes, but scored just two the rest of the way. He had 12 rebounds.

Randolph, whose 3-pointer at the end of the Game 3 win gave the Grizzlies the momentum, hit another big shot with 13.7 seconds left in regulation. His 18-footer over Antonio McDyess put Memphis ahead 93-91, prompting Randolph to put his finger to his lips, hushing the crowd.

But the Spurs weren't going down that quietly.

"Come on, we're on the road. It wasn't going to be easy," Grizzlies forward Shane Battier said. "And we needed 48 minutes. We didn't need 47 minutes and 59, 58 seconds and three-tenths. We needed the full 48 to get it done."

Only 2.2 seconds is all the time the Spurs needed to make not only two of the biggest shots in this series, but in the NBA playoffs so far this postseason.

First up was Ginobili who, after snatching the ball following a botched, up-for-grabs inbounds pass, pivoted frantically to the corner in front of the Spurs bench and made a difficult shot while falling toward the baseline that initially looked like a 3-pointer.

The Spurs ? and a crowd that included signs reading "The Dynasty Lives" ? thought Ginobili's incredible fallaway tied the game. But after a lengthy video review, the officials reversed it.

That still left San Antonio down one point, and Randolph stretched the lead back to 97-94 with two free throws. So with their season on the line the Spurs turned to Neal to try and send the game to overtime.

Neal caught the inbounds pass 3 feet behind the 3-point line, then squared up with Mayo running toward him.

The rest is now part of Spurs history.

"It's hard to beat Tim Duncan's 3 against Phoenix. Because Timmy's a terrible 3-point shooter," Parker said. "It's hard to beat that one, but it's definitely up there. It was definitely a crazy game. Especially like we made two buzzer shots: Manu and then Gary Neal."

Notes: The Spurs are 2-7 in the playoffs dating to last season. ... San Antonio avoided being eliminated on its home court for the third consecutive year.

Rob Lowe Memoir Grazes Over Tumultuous Love Affair With Melissa Gilbert

Much has been made of the fact 'Stories' only grazes over his infamous (underage) sex tape, but a close inspection shows just as little attention on his former love, Melissa, whom he dated off and on for six years and proposed to.

A search using Google Books of both tell-alls surfaces 77 mentions of "Rob" in Melissa's book, but only four "Melissa" shout-outs in 'Stories.'

She writes that she "fell instantly, hopelessly and stupidly in love" with him and later talks about the anguish of losing him.

Oddly, the most he talks about her is when he describes how when her mom was keeping her from seeing him, he began spending more time with Sheen and his brother, Emilio Estevez.

There is no mention of the length and intensity of their relationship -- which was filled with infidelities -- nor their brief engagement and tragic miscarriage.

It's a far cry from Melissa's description of losing their child in 'Prairie Tale.' After praising Rob for vowing to stand by whatever decision she made, she described waking up one day with blood on her sheets.

"Scared, I finally told my mother what was going on and she took me to my doctor. He did an ultrasound and told me that I was having a miscarriage. I went home in a daze and let nature take its course. I called Rob and told him what had happened. He seemed relieved. We made an attempt at a conversation but it was too sad."

She later writes about the tragedy, "There was nothing left for me to do afterwards but go home and face reality. I had lost the baby and my relationship with Rob. Now I was completely, totally alone, and it hurt like hell."

I've left messages for comment from reps for both Rob and Melissa, but a friend of the actress tells me she's "devastated" by the apparent slight.

"Of course Melissa has read it," a friend of the actress tells me. "She's devastated that someone who meant so much to her, someone who dominated her young life, doesn't think she was as important to him as he was to her."
